The Intensive Training Programme

Harbour Dance Center is Vancouver’s leading multi-disciplinary center and a name that is synonymous with excellence in dance education. Our program is designed to provide those tools that allow you to reach your highest potential. Our commitment is to those interested in a career in the performing arts.

HDC’s Intensive Training Programme (ITP) consists of 13 classes/a week ( up to 25 hours) in dance, voice, performance and other dance related studies. The scholarship directors and participants work closely together and after careful evaluation the directors customize the participants training program and guide them throughout the program.

Acceptance into the program is by audition only. To be eligible for the program, students must be at least 17 years of age and dancing at an intermediate level in jazz and ballet. They must have finished High School.

Video Auditions are accepted.

We offer two 19 week sessions (must complete both sessions)

  • FALL session September 2011–January 2012
  • WINTER session dates February 1, 2012– June 30, 2012

Our program includes:

  • Weekly meetings with fellow participants
  • Master classes with HDC faculty and/or guest faculty
  • Informative seminars on nutrition, auditioning, injury prevention, headshots & résumés
  • Performance opportunities
  • Evaluations by faculty and staff
