              Harbour Dance Center is Vancouver’s leading multi-disciplinary center and a name that is synonymous with excellence in dance education. Our program is designed to provide those tools that allow you to reach your highest potential. Our commitment is to those interested in a career in the performing arts.

 

              HDC’s Intensive Training Programme (ITP) consists of 10-13 classes/a week in dance, voice, fitness, performance and other dance related studies. The scholarship directors and participants work closely together and after careful evaluation the directors customize the participants training program and guide them throughout the program.

 

              Up to fifteen people are accepted into the programme each semester. Acceptance into the program is by audition only. To be eligible for the program, students must be at least 17 years of age and dancing at an intermediate level in jazz and ballet. They must submit an application and a photo by the due date on the application, as well as any supporting information as requested on the application.

·      We offer two 19 week sessions

·      FALL session September 08, 2008 – January 30, 2009 

·      WINTER session dates February 09, 2009 – June 30, 2009

Our program includes:  

·      Weekly meetings with fellow participants

·      Master classes with HDC faculty and/or guest faculty

·      Informative seminars on nutrition, auditioning, headshots & résumés

·      Performance opportunities

·      Evaluations by faculty and staff

 

How to Apply:

Each application must be submitted with the following:

·      A current headshot or photo

·      An updated training and performance résumé

·      One or two letters of recommendation attesting to your abilities as a dancer and/or your strength of character

 

What to Expect:

Once you are accepted into the program, here is what you can expect:

·      Your first and all following class schedules will be set with the assistance of your counselor.

·      Participants are expected to attend 10-13 classes per week (Mon-Sun) from our open class schedule. Weekly classes that are required to be made-up must be completed the week after they were missed.
